Sports play pivotal role in improving health and fitness of students. On 22nd Feb 2020, the college has conducted the sports day named as “YUVA EDEN”. The day began with flag hoisting by respected Inspector of police, Kollemcode. The four team captains lit the Olympic torch together. In order to nurture sportsmanship among students, sports activities such as Badminton, Cricket, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Shot put, Discus throw, Running and several other indoor games are conducted and we awarded prizes to the winners.
We have celebrated our first event “Happy Happens Day” on 8th Oct, 2019. The day had various competitions such as Essay Writing, Drawing, Elocution, etc. and the students had participated and got many prizes.
The journey starts with a free trip for students on 6th July 2019. The staff members and students united and visited the places such as Kovalam, Poovar, Neyyar Dam, etc. The day made a new step for our college with memorable incidents. The students enjoyed a lot the fresher’s day.
On 6th Sep, 2019 the Onam event starts with ‘Athapookalam’ competition. The day had honoured by our respected chief guest Mrs.............., and by her traditional Onam speech. We also had the inter-department Pookkalam competition, tug of war, Thiruvathirakali and the day ends with delicious ‘Onam Sadhya’.
On 20th Dec 2019 Christmas was celebrated to remember the birth of Jesus Christ entitled as “Jingle Bells”. On behalf of Christmas, various events conducted. Our students learnt about the spirit of giving and sharing and they exchanged gifts with each other. The day ends with cake sharing.
Two-day International Seminar on “Contribution of the Advanced Necessity to the Destiny of Innovation in the Emerging Society” (CANDIES) was organized by Eden College of Hotel Management and Applied Nutrition on 26th, 27th February 2020. The first day starts with a prayer and the stage got dazzling by respectful chief guests. Students and faculties from various colleges participated in paper presentation, booklet presentation, and poster presentation. In the evening of the first day we conducted an event called “CANDY-2k20” (DJ program). The second day got inaugurated by respectful chief guest and the event starts with prayer. We have distributed the trophy for the best paper, best booklet, and best poster presentation of International Seminar. The day ends with buddy trip.
We believe that the arts provide a fundamental means of gaining perspective. It is our commitment as an institution to prepare our students for independent and fruitful living. We have celebrated the Fine Arts Day on 28th February, 2020. It is titled as “PHINEX CARNIVAL 2k20”. Various events are conducted on that day and many students are participated and made the function grand success. In the first stage of the off-stage competitions, we had programmes like Essay writing, Rangoli, Mehndi, Vegetable Carving. And we had on-stage programmes like Solo folk and western dance, Group folk and western Dance, Solo song, Group song, Fashion show, Bridal makeup, Skit, were conducted on that day and many students are participated and made the function grand success. The winners were honoured with the prizes and certificates. The Management congratulated the participants for their effective involvements.
We have organised Annual day program, “ORIENTZ” on 29th February 2020. The glittering celebrations began with an invocation by college choir and welcome dance, followed by welcome address. The college annual report was delivered by Dr. P. Rajkumar, Principal of our college. The gathering on this event will be addressed by the chief guest with special focus on the students to try hard and smart and be confident and face the difficulties of reality. The cultural activities performed by the students show their hidden talent. The various activities performed on the event include dance, skits, kitchen orchestra, and songs under different styles, and so forth. The students anchor various segments of the function with a view to work independently. The honourable chief guest along with the dignitaries distributed prizes and certificates to the students. Toppers from each department received the trophy. Overall championship in sports for respective team will also be declared on that day. The programme was systematic and well-organized. Principal, Teaching and Non-teaching staff and all the students had dedicated their energy and time in order to make this programme successful. The programme culminated with the national anthem.
